It’s pumpkin season! We’ve put together a list of places to get your pumpkins and celebrate all the wonders of fall. Not all are officially pumpkin patches, but they have loads of gourds and seasonal items to make any autumn-obsessed mom swoon. Some things will look different this year, and we’ve noted changes and precautions for COVID-19.

Big Jim’s “Punkin” Patch Oak Court Mall

You’ll know it when you see a huge, inflatable pumpkin on Poplar just outside Oak Court Mall. This family-owned patch was previously located in the Poplar/I-240 Target parking lot. They have two other locations as well.

Country Gardens Pumpkin Patch at the Agricenter

HOURS: Monday – Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday: 1 to 6 p.m.

Great photo ops, tons of pumpkins, and be sure to buy some cider and pumpkin butter!

Covid-19 precautions: no corn maze or harvest festival this year.

Emmanuel United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Sunday to Friday: 11:30 a.m. to dark
Saturday: 9 a.m. to dark

The pumpkin patch supports the youth choir at Emmanuel United Methodist Church. They have pumpkins, gourds, mums, and more. Bring your camera for some cute family photos! The photo booth area will be across the parking lot to allow for social distancing. Workers will be wearing masks, and visitors are encouraged to wear masks.

Jones Orchard

6850 Singleton Parkway

(located near the south exit of the Millington naval base)

HOURS: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Jones Family Orchard is one of the largest family-owned orchards in Shelby County. They have an arrangement of pumpkins, squash, and other seasonal produce. Be sure to check out their 10-acre corn maze featuring the image of Helen Keller, which includes an in-maze game: Farm Scene Investigation. Find out who kidnapped Farmer Joe. Was it Billy the Goat, Frank the Pig, or Boots the Dog? Search the maze for hidden clues!

Corn maze admission: $8 for ages 6 and up (5 and under free w/ adult purchase)

The maze is open every Friday – Sunday in October, including Halloween (opens Oct. 2). It’s located at 6880 Singleton Parkway.

Brace yourself for the Shadowlands Festival of Fear each Friday to Sunday in October.

Admission is $15.

Memphis Botanic Garden

Pick out pumpkins, mums, pansies, and more during the fall plant sale, which is by appointment only Oct. 1-3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Members only on Oct. 1.) Sign up for your time slot here. All shoppers are asked to wear masks and maintain 6ft of distance from others. Only one person is admitted per reservation.

Online plant sale begins Oct. 7. Place your order online and then schedule your pick-up. Pick-up days are Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Garden members receive a 10% discount on all orders.

They also have some fun events planned for the whole family!

Tickets are available for a family pumpkin planter party Oct. 10 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. Choose a pumpkin and use fall flowers to make a festive arrangement. $15/members and $20/ non-members. Register in advance here.

Scarecrow family party Oct. 24 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. Each family will make one large scarecrow, and each child will make a mini scarecrow. Supplies provided. $15/members, $20/non-members. Register here.

Family movie night featuring Great Pumpkin and Casper. Oct. 17, 6-9 pm. Great Pumpkin begins at 6:45 and Casper at 7:15. Families will be socially distanced on the lawn. Food trucks available. $8/members, $10/non-members, advanced purchase only.

Menagerie Farm

Due to covid-19, Menagerie Farm will not hold family days this year, but they are taking reservations for individual families to enjoy the farm.

Midtown Nursery

The nursery is in the parking lot at First Baptist Church. 

HOURS: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

Midtown Nursery offers a wide array of pumpkins and seasonal plants, with new shipments every week. Get your pumpkins, gorgeous mums, pansies and so much more. Bring the whole family (they love kids AND pets).

Masks are requested, and please keep your distance from other families. 

Priddy Farms

You’ll love this 24-acre farm located on Germantown Parkway just north of the Wolfchase Mall. They also have a petting zoo, hay rides, bounce houses and more fun for the family. Bring old children’s clothes to make your own scarecrow!

Second Baptist Church Pumpkin Patch

This patch includes a beautiful array of pumpkins and gourds in all shapes and sizes, plus hay bales, corn stalks, mums, cabbage, pansies, and compost for planting. Pumpkin patch hoodies will be available for purchase, along with carving kits. They have a festive picture area for family photos. 100% of the proceeds support student missions and ministries.

Second Baptist is taking many precautions to keep guests safe. The patch will be designed to allow for more distance between visitors. iPads will be used for contactless sales, and volunteers will wear masks. Guests are encouraged to wear masks in the patch, and they will have masks available for purchase. Please keep families together to enable social distancing. Hand sanitizer stations will be available. Due to covid-19, they will not offer story times, hayrides, or their annual pumpkin festival.

Tom’s Farm

Located in Rossville, just east of Collierville, Tom’s Farm serves thousands throughout West Tennessee. They offer an 8 acre corn maze (haunted the last two weeks of October), wagon rides, pumpkin patch camping, bon fires, children’s playground, fall decorations (corn stalks, gourds, pumpkins, and mums), and more! They specialize in hosting outdoor activities for Scouts, 4-H, schools, churches, and businesses. Snacks and drinks are available.

Hotshot Farms in Millington is a pumpkin patch and petting zoo. They offer a variety of fun games, from corn-hole to pumpkin tic-tac-toe. They have a hay ride, maze, corn pit, plus they sell pumpkin decorating kits! Children 2 and under are free and they sell concessions.
There is a notice that some of their services may be affected by COVID-19, but I couldn’t find any specific information. I’d call in advance if you have any questions!
