We are so excited to introduce y’all to FOUR new contributors to the Memphis Moms Blog team! Each mom has her own vibrant personality, and we can’t wait for you all to get to know them both online and in person through upcoming posts and at the events we hold. We feel humbled, honored, and so excited to have each of these women join our team. Also, a huge thank you to Kellsey McDermott for capturing us so well!!!
Anna Claire is a native Alabamian who now calls Memphis home, along with her husband, Nate; Caleb (December 2018); and two pups, Milo and Libby. She’s a proud Auburn University alumna with a B.A. in journalism (War Eagle!) who has worked for a variety of B2B/B2C magazine publishers and a corporate content marketing team, before becoming an East Memphis SAHM. Her son is her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment, and she is so thankful to spend her days keeping up with him. She’s a self-proclaimed word nerd who loves a good em dash — when used properly. She enjoys iced coffees, late-summer days at the beach, and quality time spent with family and friends. She’s never met a stranger, so don’t hesitate to say hi if you see her around town!
Alia is a stay at home mom with one daughter, Hanna (2017) and a baby boy due in July (2019). She comes from a huge family on both sides, so loud dinners and get togethers are my thing! She is a native of Memphis and has a degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies from the University of Memphis. Go Tigers! She loves to go out to the occasional dinner and a movie, but quite frankly, is more of a homebody. Her guilty pleasure is getting in an episode of Judge Judy while eating some junk food in peace during nap time.
Originally from Tupelo, MS, family and friends have dubbed Niki an honorary Memphian. She loves all of Memphis except Collierville, because of a speeding ticket that one time. Mom to Aria and Hayes and wife of 5 years, but high school sweethearts for 13 years. As a Memphis Realtor, you may spot her placing a “For Sale/Sold” sign in your neighbor’s yard. She also works as the Creative Director and Social Media Manager for downtown lifestyle boutique, Stock & Belle. Wait, there’s more! She also directs and styles photo sessions for local photographer, Jarvis Hughes. She is an advocate for self-love, equality, healthy eats, mother nature, and the 4-hour work day. If you’re wanting to get more personal with Niki, visit her personal blog www.ikinb.com.
Dalhya Grace, mother of Evan Darnell (January 2012), is a Tennessee transplant, moving here when she was 16. She bleeds BLUE; she attended The University of Memphis her first year and a half of college, dropping out when she had Evan her Sophomore year. In true Grit and Grind Spirit, she finished up with a Bachelor of Science in Business Studies at Christian Brothers University, C/O 2017. She loves all things Memphis, but she also has wanderlust in her DNA. She and her son love to explore all of the things to do, food to eat, and places to go here in Memphis and in other cities. Working a full time job while being a single parent who tries to juggle self care, fun quality time with her son, and occasional travel is just that – a juggling act. But dropping the ball is out of the question when you have someone who solely depends on you.
